Girlicious take trashy to a whole new level

From MSN Canada

They shouldn't be offended if people start calling them trashy s***s

Oh Girlicious, I love you. I do. I didn't think I would the day I tuned into your reality show, The Pussycat Dolls Present Girlicious, because it seemed like it was ALWAYS ON and was almost IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE. I thought I would laugh in a self righteous, superior manner, roll my eyes at the stupid things that came out of your idiot mouths and cringe at your trashy outfits.

But the joke was on me because, while I did do all those things, I also found myself infatuated and before I knew it I was hooked. I hated Nathalie for the catty things she said until I realized that even if she is wildly conceited she is actually very sweet and I empathized with Ilisa's feelings of isolation from the other girls. We had good times. Like the time you all sat around working out your differences so you could better function as a group but Charlye refused to participate? That was a good time. Oh, what a wild ride it was!

So, I want you to do well. Honestly. But I wonder if maybe you shouldn't put just a few more clothes on. Because you girls are TRASHY! I'm not easily shocked -- just ask anyone who knows me -- but even I think you might want to tone it down, considering that a large part of your target demographic is under 12-years-old.

I know this because on Episode Number 3, 'Charisma', you performed in front of and were judged by what Robin Antin called your 'key demographic', a group that included girls who looked like they were as young as seven or eight.

It's weird to find myself in this position. I've never been one for censorship and I think parents should be the ones to police their own children's entertainment, rather than getting the state to do it for them but when I watch your video for 'Stupid S***' I can't help but feel like you shouldn't be stripping out of private schoolgirl outfits, dancing around in your bras and panties, having a pillow fight and basically enacting a series of porno clichés for an audience of children. I also think you look desperate.

And I hate that I feel that way. I'll bet there are a lot of kids of the 70s and 80s out there, who have done far more than their fair share of things they really shouldn't have, thinking exactly the same thing and feeling like huge hypocrites.

Maybe it doesn't even make any difference. After all, my generation had the ridiculously wholesome Debbie Gibson and I still wound up being the type of girl other kids mothers didn't want them to hang out with. Still...

Girlicious, I understand and sympathize with your predicament. If you did put more clothes on, there's a very real chance that nobody would pay any attention to your mediocre music and talent. A lot of women in the music business probably struggle with the same issue. And, of course, your mentors and creators, The Pussycat Dolls, are better known for looking slutty than for anything else. But look! Rihanna is wearing clothes in her latest video! And it seem to be working for her. Not that you're Rihanna.

And I fully, one hundred per cent support their and your right to dress and behave as much like porn stars as you want. I just think maybe you shouldn't do it in front of little kids. And don't be offended if people start calling you 'trashy' which they're already doing all over the web. Even if you're not really trashy. I know appearances can be deceiving but the fastest way to get people not to call you trashy is to put on some pants and stop grabbing your crotch. Might I recommend it?

The Pussycat Dolls Present: 'Girlicious' Talks About the Competition and Their Future Plans

Fresh from The Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, Nichole, Tiffanie, Natalie, Chrystina are the four happy girls who were able to land a record deal with Geffen Records, the people who made their debut self-titled album possible. In fact, the group has already released two videos, “Like Me” and “Stupid S---,” and their album will be hitting retail stores on July 1st. Now that they have got the ball rolling, the girls sit down to talk about their experiences on the reality competition, which trained them to become the sassy young performers they are now.

“When you are on reality TV you can’t get away with stuff you would have in real life,” the 18-year-old Nichole Cordova told Reality Wanted. “So that caused some problems between the girls.”

Being in the house with 15 girls with ages ranging from 17 to 21 would definitely bring on the drama, and the four finalists admitted that at one point, they got thrown into the intensity of the competition as well.

“I basically had a problem with the whole house. Charlye, Tiffanie and I had some problems, there was a lot of drama in the house,” 20-year-old Chrystina of San Diego, California said. “Basically when you move a bunch of girls in the house with nothing to do there is going to be drama and clicks.”

“It is a competition so of course you are looking for the other girls weaknesses. I wanted to win and have a spot in the group,” 19-year-old Natalie Mejia said. When the final four emerged, though, it seemed as if things did change. After coming a long way, the girls got to know each other and create a unique bond.

“The girls and I bonded so hard, we are pretty much sisters. We hang out with each other a lot,” Chrystina admitted. “It was hard for me to put aside my differences, but when we came together we realized what we have.”

Natalie, on the other hand, revealed, “Chrystina and I gelled from the beginning. We are so close now even though we had some differences before.”

Now that the competition is over, the girls are busy with their projects, which include a two-year, multimillion dollar deal with Sexy Hair Concepts, the Chatsworth, California-based firm which specializes in manufacturing volume-generating hair products. The deal will include $3 million expenditure by the company to produce print advertising featuring Girlicious.

“The things the company is moving toward are youth, sexiness and diversity,” said Jim Morrison, chief executive officer of Sexy Hair. “If you look at these four girls, it is sort of United Colors of Benetton. It was a natural fit and didn't take us long to make a decision.”

Meanwhile, fans could catch Girlicious girls as they will appear for an interview on The Playbook, which airs during Spike's Monday Night Movie at 9pm on May 19 on SpikeTV.
